Hear from Caregivers

  • Our family has worked with Teresa for over a year now and can confidently say that she is one the most supportive professionals (across disciplines) that we have met.

“Her commitment shows through every interaction and visit she facilitates. Teresa can build relationships with children and adults in a genuine and supportive way. Her gentle yet direct style is exactly what our family needs to help us brainstorm ideas and solutions to some of our trickier challenges.

We love Teresa’s warmth , kindness and expertise!! She is willing to go the extra step and look at the whole child rather than just one aspect. We are so grateful for her recommendations and connections to resources that support our child’s development.

Teresa has a grounded and practical approach for ideas that can fit into our everyday routines in a way that helps our child with their day to day functioning and regulation.

We are so lucky to have found Teresa and are so grateful for the energy, commitment and kindness she brings to her field.”

    – Parent of a child with complex sensory needs

  • Teresa Cao is an amazing, professional, empathetic, patient, and knowledgeable therapist!

"Throughout the process, I was always included and kept well-informed of my daughter's progress along with what Teresa was working on and how each activity was conducive to our goals. Teresa always took the time to answer my questions or address any new concerns I had.

Occupational therapy with Teresa was instrumental to my daughter's development and became the foundation that allowed her to succeed in school and extracurricular activities. We've had the opportunity to work with other occupational therapists and although the therapy sessions still went well, I have to say that the experience with Teresa was unmatched."

Frequently Asked Qusetions

  • I accept credit cards, check, and cash, in addition to HSA and FSA cards. For all packages, you can choose to pay the full quarterly amount upfront or three equal monthly payments.

  • My approach is responsive and neurodiversity-affirming, which means I never use rewards, pressure, or force. Instead of demanding compliance, I address why eating feels hard for your child. I work on foundational skills, adjust the environment, and teach caregivers first before expecting your child to explore new foods. When these foundations are in place, curiosity about food emerges naturally.

  • I work with children starting at 6 months old and up. This includes little ones just beginning the transition to solids or toddlers and older kids struggling with oral motor difficulties, picky eating, and limited food repertoire.

  • Feeding therapy requires consistency and caregiver dedication to be effective. Quarterly packages ensure families maintain the momentum needed for real progress.

  • Packages are designed to be completed over 12-16 weeks (approximately 3-4 months) with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. All sessions must be used within 4 months of your first session to maintain therapeutic momentum.

  • Unused sessions expire after 4 months from your first session and cannot be refunded or carried over. This policy ensures families maintain the consistency and commitment feeding therapy requires to be effective.

  • Sessions can take place:

In your home – I come to you anywhere in Orange County. This allows me to observe your natural mealtime environment, work with your actual foods and kitchen setup, and coach you in real-time.

Via telehealth – Virtual sessions work well for parent coaching, strategy development, video review of mealtimes, and follow-up sessions after an initial in-home evaluation.

In the community – Sessions at grocery stores, farmers markets, restaurants, parks, or other real-world settings where eating actually happens. This is especially valuable for practicing skills in different environments.

You can mix and match session locations based on your child's needs and your family's schedule.

  • Sessions located more than 10 miles from zipcode 92804 include a $20 travel fee per session. This fee applies to all packages and individual sessions.

  • You must provide 24 hours advance notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice forfeit the session, and it counts toward your package total.

  • At the end of your quarter, we'll review your child's progress together. If continued therapy would be beneficial, you can re-enroll in another quarterly package. We'll make recommendations based on your child's progress and your family's priorities.
